12:09pm: Got the MRI. The tech didn't shield the tat. She said that in general if it was done in the US they don't need to and there were no problems.

Should find out what they found on Monday when I go back to the doc.

Arbonne party on Saturday at my aunt's house. Ivan is going to help me get set up since I'm a one handed gimp. Besides he says he wants to get into Arbonne when he gets some money to invest so it will be good practice for him.

Thought I'd try a little typing with both hands today just to see. It's still really uncomfortable and my right hand doesn't do right because the fingers are semi-numb and I can't feel the keys properly.

Oh bother.

11:52am: I go get my MRI on Wednesday to find out if my rotator cuff is torn and needs surgery. I'm hoping no surgery, obviously. I am also hoping that I will be able to type with both hands soon. Hunt and peck is bad enough, but is even harder with the left hand when you are right handed. My fingers work fine on my right hand but getting them in position over the keyboard is not comfortable. I guess when the doc lets me go back to work it will be time to take those pain pills and see if I can stay awake. One of the ones I have are prescription NSAIDs (like Aleve) and they help a good deal without drowsiness. Maybe I'll be able to make it with them.

Here is something I didn't know. The lady setting up my MRI asked if I have a tattoo and where it is located. I asked her why she needed to know that. She said they have to shield it because tattoo ink sometimes has metal in it and since the MRI uses a magnet it heats it up!!!

Well, you know me... I had to go see what I could find on the internet...

5:44pm: I can't type much 'cause I broke my right shoulder on our first night in Jamaica. For more specific info. see whitewolf3399's account. I spent most of the day today typing captions and descriptions one handed until I just gave up. The dates are mostly 4 days behind for some reason. The camera date needs to be set.

7:15am: Colors and OWIE!
The wedding date is quickly approaching, and I still don't have my dress... Yes, I procrastinated. I found the one I wanted about a year ago and didn't buy it so now I can't find exactly what I want again.

BUT I did find one finally that Tom and I agreed on. I think he was hoping that I would relent and wear a more traditional wedding type color, but I have been pretty adamant about the color. BLACK - yes you read it right. Black is the color of quiet power, changes, rebirth, wisdom, resilience and discipline.

In other news... I fell Tuesday night in my basement. I was chasing a cat who snuck down there and I slipped in the condensation on the concrete floor from the AC unit. I think I may have broken my hand, but I still haven't gotten the X-Rays back that they took on Wednesday morning. Yes, I know it's Friday. I don't know why I keep going to a doctor in Habersham County when I know the hospital is so incompetent. I am typing with my left hand and the index finger in my right. The others on my right hand don't work so well for typing. It hurts to put that kind of pressure on them. So I've decided that after I take Cassie to School today, I'm going to go sit at the doctor's office until they tell me something. I really must go back to work and they won't let me until I get a release from the doc.

I'll post more later. My hand is hurting. Somehow I don't think they make enough Tylenol for me to be able to sit and type all day...

12:21pm: Peachtree Road Race?
I think not...

ladykickbxr has been hinting that I should join her and radioyada in the Peachtree Road Race this year. I was actually considering it until I looked at the web site and saw the application requirements. In the first place, they want proof that you have run in other races. Uhmm... I haven't. Then there is the fact that today I went out for a 30 minute walk and realized that at a fast walk when I start downhill my knee HURTS and goes all wobbly. I knew I couldn't run, but I thought maybe I could 'speed walk'. Somehow I don't think it's gonna happen. I am considering seeing the doctor about my knee and seeing if I can get some physical therapy or just some special exercises to do. It's very frustrating to want to do something like this and not be able to because my body doesn't cooperate!!!

The problem with going to the doc is... the last time I saw one about my knee (granted it was 22 years ago) he wanted to cut on it. It isn't that bad. I don't want to be cut on if there is any way I can avoid it. I can walk at a regular pace right now without any pain (most of the time), and I'd like to keep it that way. I know too many people who have had knee surgery and lost mobility rather than gain it.

In other news...

It's been a quiet weekend. Tom has been on call, so his I-pager keeps going off, but the kids are all off with other relatives. I got to sleep late today. Thank you sweetie for getting up and feeding the zoo and taking the Boots out!

Jinx is doing well. She still seems to be much more of a lap cat and 'cries' when Tom goes out to take the dog, but she is getting better and a little less clingy. I figure in a couple more weeks we will be TRYING to get her to sit on us once in a while.

My zoo has been decreased by one. A friend who had stayed with me for a while finally came and got her cat on Friday. I was cat sitting until she got her 'allowed to have pets' sticker for her apartment. She says after she gets Loki fixed she may come back to get Sammy (Tom's cat that I have had since right before Jinx went into labor because he would not leave her alone.) Sammy and Loki get along famously, and my cats hate him because he wants to play all the time. My cats are all old lazy critters who enjoy peace and quiet and going outside for a romp once in a while. Sammy is still a kitten even though he is bigger physically than my cats! Needless to say they don't appreciate getting pounced on when they are trying to nap.

Well, I'm off to take a shower since I'm all sweaty from my walk.

Oh and on a side note that I think is hilarious...

I took Boots with me to walk today. He did fine on the first round and then was ready to come up the driveway. He was done. I tried to get him to go another round with me and he sat down and refused to budge! I had to bring him in and go back and finish my walk alone! Lazy dog! LOL

10:10pm: So. Went a picked Jinx up from the Vet today. She was sooooooooooooo happy to see me! Not typical Jinx at all, so I guess she was just feeling stressed about having gone through so much. I'm just so happy that she's ok.

My daughter's Winter Concert was tonight (7th grade band) and it was actually really good! I was so proud of her. I'm actually looking forward to her getting more involved in band and in another year she will be in the marching band, which I loved. I think she will, too.

Talked to my boss lady today about that I-Order job and even though she says she would hate to loose me from her team she thinks it would be a good move for me. She also said that the supervisor of I-Orders had already been asking her about me, so I guess I probably am actually going to get moved. I love what I'm doing and the team I'm on but at the same time I do want to move up and make more money. I also like the supervisor of I-Orders from what I've seen of her, but I do know that working with someone and working FOR someone can be two different things. Ah, well. We shall see.

10:14pm: Sad News
Well, Jinx tried to have her kittens, but it just was not to be. The first one got stuck and once she finally delivered it, it was not alive. Then she couldn't seem to deliver the other(s). (at this point we didn't know how many were left) So... this morning (after no sleep for me, Tom, or Jinx) I took her to the vet. They X-Rayed her and the vet showed me the picture. She said it was the biggest kitten she had ever seen in a cat, and there was no way Jinx was going to be able to deliver it normally. So I called Tom (since she lives with him, but she is OUR cat :-P) and he agreed to the surgery. I called this afternoon and Jinx is fine, but the other kitten was already dead. The vet says it was probably a viral or bacterial infection. It was hard to say. I'm a little sad that the kittens didn't make it but at least Jinx will be ok, and probably happier since she can't have any more kittens. So much for going through all this again. There is no TELLING how much this is going to end up costing me, but I never regret it when it comes to my furries.

I go pick up the kitty tomorrow morning, and am looking forward to seeing her. I just hope there are no more complications. She can be such a sweet kitty even if she is a bit squirrely (my word for nervous).

In other news, not much to report. I was so worried about Jinx this morning that I totally forgot it was Monday, and thought I had made it to work in time despite the crazy morning, and I pull into the parking lot and realize I was supposed to be at fucking work at 9:30... *sigh* My sales were a little better today, though.

Needless to say I didn't make it to Curves today. If I don't go on Monday morning I can't go at lunch, 'cause we only get 1/2 an hour. So... tomorrow I get to make up for it before I go get the kitty and deposit her back at Tom's house. Guess that means I should be off to bed. I am going to have to get up early to get all that in and I am bushed.

9:04pm: Things are going pretty good. I didn't make it to Curves last week because I had a sinus infection. (again) The doctor sent me to have a CT Scan on my sinuses, but he hasn't gotten the results yet. I called today and they said to call back tomorrow.

Work has been ok, but my sales have really really sucked the last two days. I'm not sure why. It seems I'm in the 'disconnect' cue. All the calls I get want to disconnect or remove services, and I can't sell a damn thing!

Oh well, maybe tomorrow will be better.

I wasn't able to get my new house mortgage from the company that I was talking to. I have one more I might have a chance with. If I can't get this one I guess I'll have to wait another year.

10:54am: I did make it to Curves yesterday and was shocked at how good of a workout it was. Of course I think there are a couple of reasons for this. The first being that I have been very sedentary lately. The other reason is that you move so fast. You move quickly from machine to machine (the music playing has a cue that tells you when to move to the next station) and in between you walk in place or do lunges or some other aerobic exercise on this board they have set up between each station. I do think it's gonna help me loose some fat and tone up a bit. I am wondering if I won't need to go to a real gym with weights at some point, but considering I don't stick with any exercise routine over a year or so I'll probably be ready for a change by then. I felt invigorated after the workout however and that is another big reason that I wanted to start some kind of exercise program anyway. I needed more energy!

I have decided I'm not going to diet. In my opinion diet is just 'DIE' with a 'T' at the end. Not that I haven't done it before, but I just like food too much. I am going to try to make better choices in my food consumption, however. More lean meat, less fried stuff, that sort of thing. I KNOW eating plans work, but I'm just not prepared to go to those lengths yet and there is no since fooling myself. Besides whitewolf3399 says I get cranky when I diet! LOL

At least I got a start. And for me that's the hardest part.
